Nad’s Dumplings was founded by Nadirah Tan with the goal of introducing the wonders of Jiao Zi (a Chinese dumpling that is generally not halal) to the Muslims of Singapore. As a Chinese Muslim revert, she wanted nothing more than to share the authentic taste of her heritage with her new family.



Putting the chef’s personality into a brand!
With her bubbly personality and love for cooking, Nadirah wanted something that could convey the authenticity of her brand while still having it seen as a source of comfort food. My response was an icon reflection of her and her dumplings (designed after her gyoza’s signature crisp folds) in a warm colour palette of red, beige, and mustard, her favourite colour. Clean bold lines kept things neat and simple for future expansion of her business — interchanging the dumpling for other things.
